FENG SHUI DRAWS LUXURY BUYERS TO HAMILTON GROVE
Well-designed spaces no longer mean just premium finishes and fittings anymore, with many luxury homebuyers now also prioritising the balance, energy and flow – or feng shui – of a space when choosing their next home.
Centered around designing spaces to encourage balance, wellbeing and energy movement, feng shui considers how the design of a home can influence the mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing of its residents.
As buyers place greater value on wellness and thoughtful design, Wentworth Equities Executive Chairman Sameh Ibrahim said that luxury property developers can no longer afford to overlook the role feng shui plays into shaping the feel of a home.
“Feng shui is no longer something sought out primarily by international buyers – we are now seeing interest across the market with buyers looking for homes that not only look luxurious in their finishes and aesthetics but feel luxurious in the way that energy flows through the home too,” Mr Ibrahim said.
“Our vision for Hamilton Grove has always been about creating more than a luxury retail and residential precinct. We want to create a place where residents and visitors feel a genuine sense of calm, balance and connection to natural surroundings, and the principles of feng shui naturally align with this.
“It was important for us to involve Feng Shui Master Jane Langof right from the beginning to ensure feng shui wasn’t just a finishing touch, but influenced and shaped the precinct plan and design right from the very beginning.”
Ms Langof said effective feng shui requires both the practical and emotional experience of a space to be considered during the design process.
“When it is integrated correctly, feng shui can create a sense of balance and connection within a space without compromising aesthetic visuals,” Ms Langof said.
“Feng shui is not just an intangible feeling about how energy flows through a home, it is also deeply grounded in the practical and considered design processes.
“By examining Hamilton Grove on both a precinct and individual residence level including its positioning, entrances, layouts, we’ve ensured the design allows energy to enter and move through the space in a logical way while still making the most of the precinct’s waterfront position, green outlook and connection to the surrounding landscapes and cityscapes.”
Wentworth Equities Executive Sales Manager Ben Collins said the broader property market had increasingly embraced feng shui and recognised the role it can play in creating homes that didn’t just look good, but felt good too.
“We’ve heard directly from prospective buyers about the importance of feng shui within luxury residences, with some telling us they wouldn’t consider a residence without it,” Mr Collins said.
“When we are talking about luxury residences now, there is an expectation in the market that this goes beyond just the aesthetics of a residence to include how the space makes people feel and if it supports the way they want to live.”
